Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient management, and infection control will help create a smooth, efficient, and welcoming environment for every patient. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records in electronic medical documentation systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and collecting vital signs to ensure patient comfort and safety. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and supporting overall patient management using patient management software. Maintain clinical equipment including dental x-ray machines and dental instruments, ensuring proper functioning through routine inspection and cleaning. Follow healthcare infection prevention and control standards to uphold the highest levels of safety for patients and staff. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or Dentrix for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures to assist effectively in clinical settings. Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, 3D scanners, and sterilization tools. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures. Familiarity with infection control practices including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures to ensure safety compliance. Ability to perform dental instrument processing swiftly while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members like dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals while providing outstanding patient care.
