Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our dental practice. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with dentists and patients, ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining clinical excellence, and upholding the highest standards of infection control. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient management, and clinical support will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for all patients seeking quality dental care. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take dental X-rays while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment details accurately. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Perform dental instrument processing including sterilization procedures to maintain clinical hygiene standards. Support front desk operations as a Dental Receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow via patient management software, and handling administrative tasks efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic environment. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical documentation and medical records management. Knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and clinical confidentiality policies. Certification in Dental Radiography or X-ray certification required; additional certifications in infection control or healthcare infection prevention are advantageous. Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to oral surgery and oral anatomy. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients about oral health practices and procedures. Attention to detail in medical documentation, medical imaging, and maintaining sterilization standards according to infection prevention guidelines.
