In this vital role, you will support the dentist during procedures, manage patient care with compassion, and ensure the smooth operation of our dental practice. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering outstanding dental experiences while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and infection control. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. Duties Assist dentists with clinical procedures in pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental x-rays ensuring accuracy and patient safety in compliance with dental x-ray safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix Archy or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Provide chairside assistance during procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients to support comprehensive care delivery while adhering to HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, answering questions about treatments, and guiding patients through pre- and post-procedure care instructions. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic environment. Knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and infection control protocols including dental sterilization procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Archy, Curve or Eaglesoft; experience with patient management software is highly desirable. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following radiation safety guidelines; certification in dental x-ray is preferred. Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure high-quality patient care. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and healthcare professionals. Experience in pediatric dentistry and x-ray certification are a plus as well as willingness to be cross-trained as a front desk assistant.
