Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow with four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging equipment while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic for accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical coding. Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating medical documentation efficiently. Measure vital signs including blood pressure and pulse to assist in comprehensive patient assessments. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is essential for managing digital records accurately. Demonstrated proficiency in chairside assisting techniques including X-ray procedures, medical imaging, and four-handed dentistry practices. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA standards. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with dental assisting certifications or coursework emphasizing pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics is a plus.
