Responsibilities:

• Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs
• Prepare patients for dental work by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
• Take and develop dental x-rays (medical imaging)
• Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies
• Perform office management tasks that often require the use of dental assisting systems

Skills:

• Proficiency in infection control procedures
• Knowledge of dental assisting procedures and practices
• Ability to assist with various dental procedures
