Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring infection control standards, and assisting with various dental procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on delivering high-quality dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. Candidates with experience in dental software systems and 2 years of clinical procedures will thrive in this position. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and other specialty treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take dental X-rays and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient records using patient management software Open Dental or similar EMR systems, ensuring accuracy in documentation and records. Monitor vital signs and assist with patient care before, during, and after procedures to ensure comfort and safety. Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures to maintain aseptic technique standards. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and dental terminology to promote overall health literacy. Support administrative tasks such as patient scheduling, managing medical records, and coordinating patient flow within the clinic environment. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with infection control policies related to healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is mandatory, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or oral surgery procedures. Proficiency with dental software such as Open Dental is highly desirable for efficient patient management. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, dental equipment operation, and dental instrument processing is essential for success in this role. Experience with dental X-ray techniques including digital radiography and 3D imaging enhances candidate suitability. Familiarity with infection control practices including sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention is required. Certification in radiography or related fields is advantageous however, the ability to perform X-ray duties competently is essential. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and clinical confidentiality policies ensures compliance with healthcare regulations.
