Duties Assist orthodontists during various procedures including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and care Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning optimally in accordance with infection prevention management protocols Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices to promote optimal outcomes Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist with medical imaging procedures to support comprehensive patient care Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow with patient management software, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on orthodontics or general dentistry preferred Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is a plus Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and sterilization procedures essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment Certification in dental assisting, including X-ray certification; additional training in oral surgery or endodontics is advantageous Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while adhering to infection control protocols Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly to patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry considerations Knowledge of anatomy relevant to orthodontic treatment and general dentistry procedures Join us in delivering outstanding orthodontic care that makes a difference!
