Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and patient management. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging as required. Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene practices. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment; ensure proper sterilization of instruments. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques. Experience in chairside assisting and understanding of four-handed dentistry principle. Understanding of infection control practices within a dental clinic setting. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus; knowledge of medical coding is beneficial. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
