In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and preventive services. Your expertise will help promote oral health and ensure a positive experience for every patient. This position offers flexible hours suited for individuals passionate about making a difference in pediatric and general dentistry settings. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and calculus, and applying fluoride treatments to promote oral health, taking necessary radiographs, and periodontal evaluations. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR). Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health. Assist with chairside procedures by preparing instruments, managing dental equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment through infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Manage electronic health records (EHR), document treatment notes accurately, review medical coding, and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards. Requirements Valid Dental Hygiene license in accordance with state regulations. Experience in dental software systems Eaglesoft a plus Experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry environments is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care. Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, medical imaging, and infection control protocols. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and patient education. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining a high standard of patient care. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including HIPAA compliance management.
