In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and evaluating oral health status. Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, including brushing, flossing, and preventive practices tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Assist during dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems carestack, documenting treatment details, medical records, and medical coding. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards such as HIPAA compliance. Monitor and operate dental equipment safely, ensuring all tools are sterilized and maintained according to infection prevention management guidelines. Support patient care by managing appointment scheduling, patient communication, and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license with current state registration. Proven experience in general dentistry or dental clinic environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems Carestack for documentation review and management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Expertise in dental x-ray procedures, X-ray safety protocols, and use of dental imaging technology. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards including aseptic technique and infection prevention management. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and patient confidentiality.
