In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal dental health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging technology, ensuring accuracy and patient safety Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health Assist during dental procedures with chairside support, including handing instruments and managing dental equipment efficiently Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while ensuring HIPAA compliance Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to uphold the highest standards of infection control Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care delivery in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures Proven experience in a dental office environment, with familiarity using EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care Proficiency in dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing dental equipment Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, providing clear patient education on dental care practices Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA regulations for maintaining patient confidentiality Experience working with medical imaging equipment and understanding of medical records management is preferred Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a difference every day!
