Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Sterilization Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures, infection prevention, and medical equipment sterilization, but we are willing to train the right candidate. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant clinical environment by ensuring all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, assembled, and prepared for patient care. Responsibilities Perform sterilization of dental instruments, equipment and operatory rooms following established protocols and manufacturer instructions. Assemble, package, and label sterile instruments accurately for use during dental procedures. Manage inventory of sterilization supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage conditions. Conduct decontamination processes, including cleaning and disinfecting reusable instruments and equipment. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality control documentation. Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, including aseptic techniques and healthcare infection control guidelines. Moving forward we may need to transition in This position will primarily serve as a Sterile Processing Technician. However, based on staffing needs and the employee's training and competency, there may be occasions when the employee is asked to assist with clinical support duties. We are looking for a flexible, team-oriented individual who is willing to help where needed to support our department and patients. Qualifications Proven experience in sterile processing, medical instrument assembly, packaging, or related healthcare roles is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. Knowledge of infection prevention management and healthcare infection control practices. Familiarity with medical terminology, surgical instrument sterilization, and handling procedures. Understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to dental procedures enhances performance. Ability to operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners effectively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and inventory management. Certification in sterile processing or related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for motivated candidates.
