(SDH) is a non-profit dental center dedicated to providing access to quality dental care and oral health education to our community. We provide these services with dignity, respect, and compassion. SDH improves the health of our community members through culturally sensitive, integrated care, with a focus on disease prevention. SDH is a dental home for our patients, providing preventative dental care, mobile dental, general dentistry, geriatric dentistry, pediatric dentistry, sedation dentistry and accommodations for patients with special needs and disabilities. Position:
The Supervising Dentist provides day-to-day clinical leadership at an assigned site (Half Moon Bay). This role ensures clinical standards are executed consistently, providers are supported, and care is delivered safely and efficiently. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining established clinical standards at the site level. Organization-wide clinical policies are set by the Chief Dental Officer (CDO). Fundamental duties include (but are not limited to): Clinical Supervision Provide chairside mentorship and clinical guidance to providers Ensure adherence to clinical policies, procedures, and infection control standards Serve as the first point of escalation for clinical questions, concerns, and mentorship needs Support case review, documentation quality, and clinical decision-making at the site Staff Management Hire, onboard, train, and supervise site-based provider staff Conduct performance management, coaching, and corrective actions for site-based provider staff Ensure compliance with HR policies, timekeeping, and attendance Site-Level Clinical Leadership Provide day-to-day clinical supervision of dentists and registered dental hygienists Ensure clinical readiness of schedules, rooms, and staffing Coordinate with Clinic Manager on daily flow and problem-solving Escalate quality, compliance, or staffing concerns to the CDO Compliance & Quality Ensure site compliance with clinical regulations and Sonrisas policies Participate in peer review, audits, incedient reporting, and quality improvement initiatives Support and facilitate implementation of corrective action plans as directed Monitor and reinforce documentation standards to support quality care, risk management, and compliance Identify potential clinical risks at the site level and escalate concerns to the CDO Direct Patient Care Provide direct patient care approximately 0.8 FTE, with 0.2 FTE dedicated to supervision, mentorship, and clinical oversight. Desired Experience and Qualifications DDS or DMD licensed in California Minimum 3-5 years clinical experience Familiarity of Denti-Cal and HPSM Strong leadership skills Prior experience supervising or mentoring clinical staff required Strong communication skills and sound clinical judgment Sonrisas Dental Health reserves the right to revise or change job duties and responsibilities as the business need arises.
