Anesthesiology Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Dental Anesthesia Specialist is a dentist who delivers general anesthesia to patients and upholds the LLUSD standards of care. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent in Dentistry required. Certificate of advanced education in Dental Anesthesia or equivalent preferred. Minimum one year of clinical experience in dental anesthesia (or equivalent to 1000 hours within the last 3 years) preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of healthcare laws. Knowledge of patient care and patient record keeping. Able to Diagnose and Resolve dental health problems in a timely manner. Able to maintain highly confidential patient and healthcare information. Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to gather and analyze information. Able to perform and participate in the education process of all procedures that are within the scope of General Dentistry and Advanced Dental Specialty as defined by LLUSD. Able to recognize limitations and seek consultation when needed. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position as well as Canvas and Banner. Able to communicate effectively on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the positions.
Licensures and Certifications:
Active California Dental License required. California General Anesthesia (G/A) permit active within 30 days of hire required.
