Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Lead Dentist, performs patient care, treatment planning and referrals. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Coordinates the implementation of dental functions to meet patient care needs and industry and agency standards Appraises patient dental needs and correctional methods. Provides dental services to patients, including the application of fillings, extractions, x-rays, restorations, surgery, and dental prostheses, as appropriate, and diagnoses and treats oral lesions. Reviews rules and standards and may recommend changes in departmental policies and procedures, as appropriate. Supervises dental assistants at chair side to ensure the application of proper dental techniques and methods. Maintains patient records in chart of all dental services rendered. Attends doctor's meetings. Consults with patient physician where appropriate. Complete periodic chart reviews Other duties as assigned Education, Qualifications, and/or Experience Must possess a valid and unencumbered dental license from the Dental Board of California Significant experience with surgery and dental prosthetics preferred Skills/Specialized Knowledge
