POSITION OVERVIEW

Performs corrective and restorative measures on difficult cases, using extensive professional knowledge of dentistry; possesses a thorough knowledge and skill level sufficient to diagnose and treat difficult cases with an understanding and knowledge of the relationships and applications of the basic sciences; exhibits advanced skill in handling patients with behavioral problems. Manages a dento-alveolar surgery practice, which would include: exodontia, biopsy of intraoral lesions, pre-prosthetic surgery, evaluation and management of oral surgery complications to include treatment of dental infections, treatment of cellulitis secondary to varying dental etiologies, and evaluation, treatment, and/or referral of oral and maxillofacial trauma cases. Performs endodontic procedures to include, but not limited to: diagnosis of difficult endodontic cases, treatment of the majority of teeth presenting for endodontic treatment, evaluation and retreatment of selected endodontic cases, and management of endodontic complications.
