Schedule:
Full-time; day or evening shifts with rotating weekends and holidays About the Role Our skilled nursing facility (SNF) is seeking Dietary Aides to join our food service team. Dietary Aides support the health and nutrition of residents by assisting with food preparation and meal service while upholding strict sanitation and safe food handling procedures. This is a great entry point into healthcare and senior care food service, with no prior experience required and on-the-job training provided. Nursing home, long-term care, and post-acute care experience is a plus. What We Offer Competitive pay Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays 401(k) retirement plan Life and disability insurance Free or discounted employee meals On-the-job training and opportunities for career advancement Responsibilities Serve meals that are timely, palatable, and appetizing in accordance with portion control procedures and therapeutic diets Prepare and portion food items such as desserts, salads, juices, coffee, and nourishments Operate the dish machine using proper sanitizing and safety techniques; rack, rinse, and feed dishes Wash pots and pans and clean utensils per facility policies and procedures Assist with daily and scheduled cleaning duties, including work tables, refrigerators/freezers, and sweeping/mopping floors Keep work and dining areas clean, dry, sanitized, and free of hazards Transfer food trucks from the dietary department to assigned areas safely and on time Accurately take and record temperatures of food, beverages, and equipment as directed each meal Assist with inventory and proper storage of foods and supplies Follow all safety, infection control, and food safety regulations and facility policies Maintain resident rights and HIPAA privacy, security, and confidentiality standards Interact positively with residents, family members, and visitors Requirements Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling procedures Strong attention to detail for accurate portioning and presentation Good time management skills in a fast-paced environment Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with kitchen staff Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods Preferred Qualifications Previous dietary, food service, or restaurant experience Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, or long-term care setting Food handler certification Apply today and join our team as a Dietary Aide.
