Position Overview Aspire Senior Living Malden is seeking a Dietary Manager to lead our dietary department. The Dietary Manager oversees daily food service operations to ensure residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals in a safe, welcoming dining environment. This position supervises dietary staff, coordinates meal service, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, manages inventory, and ensures compliance with resident dietary needs and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Supervise, schedule, train, and support Dietary Cooks, Dietary Aides, and other dietary team members. Coordinate daily meal preparation, service, portion control, and cleanup. Partner with the Registered Dietitian and interdisciplinary team to meet residents' nutritional needs, preferences, therapeutic diets, and physician orders. Ensure meals are prepared and served accurately, safely, and on schedule. Monitor food temperatures, storage, sanitation, and infection-prevention practices. Maintain appropriate food and supply inventory and coordinate ordering with approved vendors. Monitor department expenses and assist with maintaining budget expectations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food service and sanitation regulations. Conduct routine dietary department inspections and address identified concerns. Assist with regulatory surveys, audits, and quality-improvement initiatives. Respond promptly and professionally to resident and family dining concerns or requests. Promote a positive, resident-centered dining experience focused on hospitality, dignity, and respect. Provide ongoing education and training to dietary staff regarding food safety, sanitation, nutrition, and customer service. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification or equivalent credential required. Previous dietary leadership or supervisory experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, senior living, or another healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge of food service regulations, sanitation standards, therapeutic diets, and basic nutrition principles. Strong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively supervise and develop a dietary team. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and dietary management systems. Commitment to resident-centered service, professionalism, and quality.
