Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Aide/Cook to join our team in providing high-quality nutritional care and meal services within a healthcare or assisted living environment. Duties Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed dietary guidelines, ensuring adherence to nutritional standards and individual dietary restrictions. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food handling tools, following proper manual handling and safe lifting practices. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, adhering to food safety regulations such as JCAHO standards and workplace safety protocols. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating supplies, and ensuring proper storage of perishable items. Support the dietary department in meal planning, food production, and portion control to meet specific nutritional needs of residents or patients. Follow all procedures related to food handling, sanitation, and hygiene to prevent contamination and ensure food safety. Provide excellent customer service by serving meals courteously while respecting residents' preferences and dietary requirements. Participate in training related to

use, and other safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or Cook within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or similar healthcare settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of food production techniques, meal preparation, and food handling procedures aligned with health regulations. Familiarity with dietary requirements for geriatric or healthcare populations and ability to adhere strictly to prescribed menus. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience operating kitchen equipment safely while maintaining sanitation standards. Basic math skills for portioning ingredients and managing inventory effectively. Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate attitude toward working with elderly or vulnerable populations. Certification in CPR and knowledge of workplace safety practices are preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary.
