Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Aide/Cook to join our team in providing high-quality nutritional care and meal services within a healthcare or assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, food safety, and working with geriatric or healthcare patients. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of residents by preparing nutritious, appealing meals while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and safety. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent time management skills, knowledge of dietary requirements, and a compassionate approach to working with diverse populations. Duties Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed dietary guidelines, ensuring adherence to nutritional standards and individual dietary restrictions. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food handling tools, following proper manual handling and safe lifting practices. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, adhering to food safety regulations such as JCAHO standards and workplace safety protocols. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating supplies, and ensuring proper storage of perishable items. Support the dietary department in meal planning, food production, and portion control to meet specific nutritional needs of residents or patients. Follow all procedures related to food handling, sanitation, and hygiene to prevent contamination and ensure food safety. Provide excellent customer service by serving meals courteously while respecting residents' preferences and dietary requirements. Participate in training related to
