Director of Nursing (DON)

Full-Time Salary:
$160,000 - $180,000 per year About the Role Parkview Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to building a positive, collaborative, and resident-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the nursing department to ensure high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance. Recruit, train, develop, and retain qualified nursing staff in accordance with staffing requirements. Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies and procedures consistent with corporate standards and New York State Department of Health (DOH) guidelines. Oversee staff competencies, performance evaluations, orientation, and continuing education. Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation, social services, administration, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote positive resident outcomes. Address resident and family grievances while protecting resident rights and maintaining a safe, respectful environment. Monitor nursing department budgets, staffing resources, supplies, and overall operational efficiency. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives. Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards, CMS requirements, DOH regulations, and applicable long-term care guidelines. Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York and in good standing. RN degree from an accredited nursing program. Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility. Strong knowledge of New York State DOH regulations, CMS standards, infection control, risk management, and QA/QI processes . Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop nursing staff.
