Assistant Director of Nursing

Job Description

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) The ADON supports the Director of Nursing (DON) in managing nursing unit operations, staff supervision, and patient care quality. Responsibilities include developing policies , ensuring regulatory compliance, managing , scheduling, conducting evaluations, and providing clinical leadership. They fill in for the DON as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
Operational Support:
Assist with administrative duties, policy implementation, and strategic planning for nursing units.
Staff Management:
Supervise, train, and mentor nursing staff, manage scheduling, recruitment, and disciplinary actions.
Clinical Leadership:
Ensure high-quality patient care, monitor compliance with state/federal regulations, and conducts audits.
Patient Care Coordinator:
Assist with admissions, discharges, and if necessary, provide direct patient care or clinical guidance.
Communication:
Act as a liaison between staff, families, and physicians. Infection Preventionist (IP)-Monitor and assesses communicable diseases such as Influenzas, Covid-19 and UTIs Perform Wound Assessments and Care to Residents Weekly and as needed
Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
Registered Nurse (RN) license required,
CDC Certificate For IP Experience:
Previous experience in nursing management or supervisory roles
Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, decision-making and organizational skills along with familiarity with healthcare software including Point Click Care (PCC)
Physical:
Ability to work in high-pressure situations, potentially including evenings, weekends and holidays On-call Rotation
