UCHealth is seeking a GI Technician II for our Surgery Center to support advanced, patient-centered endoscopy care. In this role, you'll assist physicians and nurses during GI procedures, prepare and maintain endoscopy rooms and equipment, and ensure proper scope cleaning, disinfection, and documentation. You'll help position and prepare patients, monitor supplies, follow strict infection control and safety standards, and support quality and regulatory compliance. Working in our collaborative, academic environment, you'll contribute to excellent patient outcomes while expanding your technical skills and participating in ongoing training and professional development. Responsibilities Assist physicians and nurses during GI and endoscopy procedures Prepare, stock, and turn over procedure and recovery rooms Clean, disinfect, and reprocess endoscopes and related equipment per protocols Verify equipment functionality and troubleshoot basic technical issues Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards Prepare and position patients and maintain patient dignity and comfort Manage and track supplies and instruments, reporting shortages Accurately document procedure and equipment information in records Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support patient care Participate in ongoing training, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Endoscopy room and equipment setup Endoscope cleaning and high-level disinfection Infection prevention and control Basic Life Support (BLS) Medical terminology Patient preparation and positioning Electronic health record and documentation Supply and instrument management Aseptic and sterile techniques Regulatory and safety compliance in procedure areas
