Job Description:
Monitors levels of all endoscopy instruments and supplies. Follows written procedures for high-level disinfection and chemical and biological monitoring. Performs treatments and procedures within the defined scope of practice. Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and physician. Ensures the endoscopy suite is adequately prepared for procedures. Prepares the room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment for each endoscopy procedure. Demonstrates competence in the care and accurate handling of specimens. Checks all equipment and instruments needed prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning. Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping patients for endoscopy procedures. Maintains an orderly environment and anticipates the needs of the physician during procedures. Demonstrates proficiency in the setup of multi-specialty endoscopy procedures. Other duties as assigned. Demonstrates dexterity, knowledge, and safety in the care and handling of endoscopy instrumentation and supplies.

  • Knowledgeable about professional and practice issues related to the field of Gastroenterology.

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
  • Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
