Medical research Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in behavioral health, with expertise in providing evidence-based therapies and support to diverse populations, including children, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those experiencing mental health challenges. As a Behavior Therapist, you will deliver individualized treatment plans, conduct assessments, and facilitate therapeutic interventions to promote positive behavioral and emotional outcomes. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives through engaging, client-centered care within a supportive environment. Duties Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to inform treatment planning. Develop and implement tailored behavioral therapy programs, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and other evidence-based modalities. Provide direct support through individual and group counseling sessions, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality and medical documentation standards. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and facilitate behavior change across diverse populations. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans that address developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, addiction issues, grief, or chronic pain management. Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety. Maintain accurate medical records, document progress notes, and track data collection for ongoing clinical research and case management purposes. Participate in telehealth sessions when applicable, providing remote behavioral health services that meet clinical standards for outpatient or inpatient settings. Skills Extensive knowledge of psychotherapy techniques including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and psychopharmacology principles. Proficiency in ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic evaluation and medical record documentation. Strong experience working with children, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and geriatric populations in outpatient or inpatient environments. Expertise in behavior management strategies tailored for special education settings or working with people with developmental disabilities. Ability to perform crisis intervention effectively while managing complex cases involving PTSD care or addiction counseling. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to mental health counseling and behavioral health services. Competence in conducting intake assessments and patient evaluations using clinical research methodologies. Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality. Excellent communication skills for engaging clients across diverse backgrounds while demonstrating cultural sensitivity within Christian counseling or other faith-based approaches if applicable.
