The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health and behavioral care, with experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Behavior Therapist, you will implement individualized treatment plans, utilize evidence-based interventions such as applied behavior analysis, and support clients in achieving their behavioral and emotional goals. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with neurodevelopmental disorders and behavioral health challenges. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized behavior intervention plans tailored to each client's needs. Implement evidence-based strategies, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), to promote positive behavior change. Collect and analyze data on client progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. Provide direct client care, including behavior management, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques when required. Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of treatment approaches. Maintain accurate medical documentation, electronic health records (EHR), and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality. Monitor vital signs, administer medication as prescribed, and assist with medical procedures such as first aid or CPR when necessary. Engage in ongoing training related to trauma-informed care, PTSD management, autism spectrum disorders support, and substance use disorder interventions. Qualifications Proven experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders. Knowledge of mental health conditions such as PTSD, addiction, and substance use disorders. Familiarity with special education practices and crisis management techniques. Experience utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) for behavior intervention purposes. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Excellent client communication skills along with the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; relevant training in crisis intervention is highly valued. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality while managing sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
