Intern Behavior Therapist

•Achieve Beyond Garden City, NY Join our team as a Paid Behavior Therapy Intern and gain meaningful, real-world experience with children with special needs. This is a great opportunity to build clinical skills and earn required hours. We look forward to meeting you!

New York Location:

Cases Available in Garden City and surrounding areas. Come and join a team of passionate therapists providing excellent pediatric therapy . W e specialize in conducting evaluations and providing ongoing services in homes, community , and clinic settings . Achieve Beyond is centered around a culture of collaboration and support, to ensure our services are of the highest quality and adhere to our strong ethical standards. We currently offer ABA, Speech, Occupational, Social Work, and Physical therapy a s well as Special Education/ SEIT services . We serve children and families in the metro New York area (all 5 boroughs of NYC, Hudson Va l ley , Long Island and Albany ) , Virginia/DC area, Maryland, New Jers e y, Connecticut and Delaware . This paid internship is an amazing opportunity for students in need of accruing hours towards completing a human services related degree, as well as individuals looking to gain additional clinical experience working with children with special needs.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide direct ABA instruction according to the educational plan outlined by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Participate in collaborative team meetings with BCBA and other Behavior Therapists on the case Communicate frequently with family members by providing debriefs at the end of each session, as well as resources and strategies that can be implemented in the home and community to promote consistency Collect daily data and organize child's program book weekly Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families in accordance with State and Federal regulations

Requirements:

Must have a passion for working with children, families, and therapists! At least 1 year working with children in a supervised setting OR current enrollment in an undergraduate program in psychology, healthcare, human services, education, or related field Experience using ABA preferred but not required Successful completion of 20 hour classroom training provided by Achieve Beyond and passing grade on competency exam upon completion of training

•motivated, a team player, and exercise patience/professionalism Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail Excellent communication skills with children, family members, and supervisor Passionate about helping children and families, and providing services of the highest standards! Must be comfortable working in a home-based setting Must be available weekday afternoons and weekends

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases including but not limited to driving personal vehicle, walking, and/or use of public transportation such as a bus or train. The ability to climb and descend staircases The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly The ability to sit on the floor, kneel, and/ or crawl for extended periods
