Black Sheep Therapy

Mental Health Therapist

Job Description

Job Summary Tired of the usual practice model? Ready for something that actually fits therapists who think and work differently?

At the Black Sheep Therapy Collective, we're building a home for independent, depth-oriented clinicians who value autonomy, clinical integrity, and real support.

Two clear paths: Join the team as a contractor — Start at a minimum of 70% of collected fees. We handle the systems so you can focus on the work. Stay fully independent — Keep your own credentialing and simply lease office space weekly. Prefer we handle your independent credentialing for you? We will. Right now we have enough clients on our waiting list to fill two therapist caseloads. The work is here. The space is ready (it's really nice ). The model is flexible.

We're looking for clinicians drawn to deeper work — IFS, Jungian, somatic, attachment, and related approaches — who want a collaborative environment without giving up their independence.

If you're ready to try something different, reach out. Virtual positions also available. Qualifications Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law for mental health practitioners. Proven experience working with a wide variety of clientele. Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation. Experience working with co-occurring disorders such as mental health conditions combined with substance use or chronic pain issues. Proficiency in clinical documentation standards, medical terminology, telehealth platforms, and EMR/EHR systems. Excellent communication skills for patient assessment and client engagement; ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism and empathy. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and clinical ethical guidelines ensuring confidentiality and patient rights are maintained at all times. Join us in transforming lives through compassionate mental health care! We are committed to fostering a positive environment where your skills can thrive while making a real difference in the communities we serve.
