Job Description

Overview Love the water and love helping people move? The YMCA of Greater Kansas City is looking for a Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor to lead water fitness classes that help members of every age and ability get stronger, together. Responsibilities Lead and teach high-quality water exercise classes for members and participants of all abilities and levels. Responsible for staying current with the center announcements and information. Maintain safety in all classes by following YMCA and national certification guidelines, and know the pool area and building emergency procedures thoroughly. Report injuries, accidents, unsafe conditions, needed repairs, or complaints to the appropriate staff immediately, following YMCA injury/accident reporting procedures. Keep current with knowledge of all areas of training and certifications. Maintain a safe and clean pool environment. Track water fitness participant numbers. Responsible for updating all certifications. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age. Minimum one year teaching experience. First Aid, CPR, and AED within 30 days (training provided). Able to relate and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner.
