Luke's Hours:

7am-7pm Full-Time (Every 3rd weekend, every other holiday) Provides direct, hands-on patient support across nursing units under the supervision of licensed staff. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, promoting safe ambulation and transport using appropriate equipment, accurately documenting care and treatments, monitoring patient safety and condition, and promptly communicating observations and changes to the care team. Responsibilities Assists patients with ADL's according to hospital procedures, reports all abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to nurse in charge of patient. Assists with ambulation of patients and uses assist devices as appropriate to protect patient and staff member. Assists with restocking of rooms and maintain a safe and clean environment. Follows all established infection control policies and recognizes role in providing safety to the patient. Obtain EKG under the direction of the nurse. Documents vital signs, weights, activity, intake and outputs, and ADL care given to patient in computer.

Qualifications Education:

Must be actively enrolled in high school or an equivalent program with a current CNA certification or High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.

Basic Skills and Abilities:

Basic computer knowledge Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred. Ability to move and lift patients and use appropriate equipment. Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
