Job Description

As an EMT with Acadian Ambulance Service, you will provide high-quality pre-hospital care and safe medical transport in a fast-paced Emergency Services environment. Working within the Emergency Services Coordinator department, you will respond to 911 and non-emergency calls, assess patients, perform basic life support, and document care accurately. Responsibilities Respond promptly and safely to 911 and non-emergency calls Assess patient condition and obtain medical history Provide basic life support and pre-hospital medical care Safely lift, move, and transport patients to medical facilities Operate and maintain ambulance and medical equipment Communicate effectively with dispatch, partners, and hospital staff Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately Follow clinical protocols, safety standards, and company policies Participate in ongoing training, drills, and quality improvement activities Provide compassionate, professional service to patients and families Required Skills Patient assessment Basic life support (BLS) Airway management (including oxygen therapy, BVM) Hemorrhage control and wound care Splinting and spinal motion restriction CPR and AED operation Safe ambulance driving and navigation Radio communication and dispatch procedures Electronic patient care reporting (e PCR) Infection control and PPE use
