What You'll Do As an EMT supporting General Motors operations, responsibilities may include: Assess sick or injured individuals and provide appropriate emergency medical care within your scope of certification Administer CPR, oxygen, first aid, wound care, splinting, and other approved emergency medical treatment Determine when additional emergency medical services or transportation are required Communicate patient information and status updates to responding or receiving medical personnel Document medical incidents accurately in accordance with established emergency response procedures Respond to medical emergencies, fires, hazardous materials incidents, severe weather, and other emergency situations Support emergency preparedness and response activities throughout the facility Assist with access control and screening of employees, visitors, and vendors Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and other assigned locations Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols Inspect emergency exits, fire safety equipment, and designated high-risk areas Secure incident and emergency scenes when required Establish barriers or signage and help direct personnel during emergency situations Follow applicable General Motors Global Security procedures and site emergency response plans Minimum Qualifications Candidates must: Have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Possess a current and valid EMT-Basic certification/license (EMT-1) Meet and maintain all applicable governmental EMT certification requirements Meet applicable security officer licensing and regulatory requirements Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Be able to make timely and sound decisions during emergency situations Demonstrate professionalism, good judgment, and attention to detail Be able to work independently and as part of an emergency response and security team Be comfortable working with employees, visitors, emergency responders, and personnel at various levels of the organization Be able to successfully complete all required background and pre-employment screenings At least one year of EMT experience is preferred. Preferred Skills Previous EMT or emergency response experience Knowledge of emergency preparedness and incident response Familiarity with access control, security, and safety systems Strong documentation and report-writing skills Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency Experience working in a corporate, industrial, manufacturing, or security environment Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to: Physically respond to emergency situations Stand and walk for extended periods Conduct patrols throughout assigned areas Climb stairs as required Perform emergency medical duties within the scope of their certification Work effectively in stressful, urgent, and high-pressure situations Maintain a professional and composed demeanor during emergencies Why Join Inter-Con?
