Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic emergency response team as an Emergency Medical Technician, where you will be at the forefront of patient transport. In this vital role, you will provide immediate medical assistance, perform thorough patient assessments, and operate emergency medical equipment to deliver life-saving care in high-pressure situations. Your expertise will help stabilize patients, manage trauma and medical emergencies, and ensure safe transportation to healthcare facilities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while advancing your career in emergency medicine. Duties Respond swiftly to emergency calls, providing critical care response for trauma, medical, pediatric, neonatal, and cardiovascular emergencies. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiology evaluations to determine appropriate treatment strategies. Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment such as ventilators, suction devices, cardiac monitors, and DME (durable medical equipment). Administer medications via injections or other methods following established protocols and ensure aseptic techniques are strictly followed. Manage airway interventions and airway management procedures to secure breathing in urgent situations. Perform patient transport safely across city streets or via air ambulance while continuously monitoring vital signs and providing necessary interventions en route. Collaborate with incident command during multi-agency responses and maintain clear communication with hospital staff for seamless patient handoff. Requirements Valid Wisconsin EMT certification with demonstrated experience in emergency medicine settings. Strong knowledge of trauma medicine, trauma care procedures, and emergency response protocols. Experience with triage processes, patient assessment techniques, and cardiovascular emergency response. Proficiency in airway management, medication administration, venipuncture, and neonatal resuscitation procedures. Ability to operate a variety of medical equipment accurately and efficiently under pressure. Valid driver's license with experience operating emergency vehicles on city streets; ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, incident command procedures, and physiology fundamentals. Familiarity with pediatric emergency care, urgent care protocols, and hospital-based emergency room procedures is highly desirable.
