Clinician & JRB Case Manager

Job Description

Title:
Clinician & Juvenile Review Board (JRB) Case Manager Full-time, 40 hours per week Reports to:
Clinical Director Job Summary:
Function as a behavioral health clinician for the Housatonic Youth Service Bureau. The incumbent works collaboratively with the HYSB staff, public and private schools, partnering community agencies, and school staff and parents to deliver clinical services, positive youth development, and prevention programming to children in grades K-12 and their families. The incumbent's primary area of responsibility is planning, organizing and delivering clinical group services and providing one-to-one counseling. Job Duties Clinical Work, 90% Provide individual mental health counseling to students Provide case management services for families Responsible for providing clients with community resource information and referrals Maintain patient confidentiality and update case records Develop and coordinate clinical treatment plan for clients on caseload Participate in weekly supervision with the Clinical Director and other agency meetings Collaborate with area schools to identify students in need of support services Coordinate with schools and local service providers to facilitate groups as needed Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or Executive Director Juvenile Review Board, 10% Take JRB referrals and keep a case load for the student population Coordinate the JRB board/team and keep updated with trainings at the state level Collaborate with community partners (i.e. State Police Troop B, etc) Train school counselors on JRB and how to utilize the program Provide staff training on restorative justice circles in the classroom and how to utilize the techniques Qualifications The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Clinician should have experience working with children and families in the mental health setting. Education:
  • Master's Degree in social work, marriage and family therapy or related counseling field
  • Active professional licensure by the State of CT or license eligible (LMSW, MFT, LPC)
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to have flexible work hours to accommodate client schedules, emergencies, and participation in HYSB events
  • Ability to implement knowledge and skill in family and individual therapy techniques Work Hours & Benefits
