Growing hospital is looking for an industry experienced Billing Manager. This person will Plan, organize, direct, and supervise the daily operations of the Business Office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages and consistently works to improve the operations Data processing, Accounts Receivable, Patient Billing, Utilization Review and Cash Collections areas.
- Maintains appropriate internal control safeguards over: o accounts receivable records o collection of cash. o Unbilled outstanding days in AR
- Manages and improves the timeliness and quality of information flow between other departments and the Business Office, to ensure the timely and accurate submission of claims.
- Works to consistently improve the number of outstanding Net Days in Accounts Receivables in order to meet goals as established in consultation with Revenue Cycle Director.
Reports as needed on:
o Bad Debt Expense as a percent of gross revenue o Accounts Receivable, by each 30 day bucket o Unbilled Claims o Clean Claim rate o Aged Trial Balance reports
- Updates and monitors credit, charity, discount and collection policies to ensure fair and consistent application to all patients in accordance with regulations.
- Maintains relationships and monitors third party payers, vendors and contractors.
- Is a back up for submission to Compdata by due dates.
- Reviews and approves all claim submission procedures for all payers.
- Supervise and assist, as needed, in monthly close duties.
- Member of corporate compliance committee and works with committee to ensure compliance in charging, billing and collections procedures.
- Reviews and approves all refunds prior to payment. Ensures prompt payment of patient refunds within 30 days of discovery.
- Trends all payer denials/rejections received in order to improve/minimize denial rate.
- Keeps current on all system updates as related to the Business Office. Participates in safety programs as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Director or
CFO. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly supervises Business Office staff members. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or five years experience in hospital billing and collection preferred. Previous management experience preferred.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
