Pioneer Recovery Center in Cloquet, MN is looking for a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Pioneer Recovery Center is a caring and supportive inpatient residential chemical dependency treatment facility nestled in the heart of the beautiful Northwoods near Cloquet, Minnesota. It is our belief that helping women with chemical dependency issues involves more than simply educating and treating the chemical dependency. It involves addressing underlying concerns and supporting the client throughout the continuum of care.

Job Responsibilities:

The Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor shall have the responsibility of planning and coordinating the activities of the client program in cooperation with the other program staff in striving to ensure quality of care, and for advising the CEO in matters dealing with management, funding, budget and personnel practices relating to the program. Pioneer Recovery Center operates in a collective and collaborative way, where every staff member is seen as having an important place in the collective. The Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor shall convene meetings, as needed, for staff members who provide services for the purpose of reviewing the programs' progress. Develops and monitors formal and informal relationships with outside resources that are related to the client program. Functions as a member of a treatment team to staff clients on a weekly basis. Conducts groups, individual counseling and family education for clients assigned to him/her. Participates in other tasks as requested by the CEO. Participates in yearly training as required by 245G. 1. Provides clinical & program oversight of programming. 2. Provides & documents clinical supervision of staff. 3. Conducts weekly case reviews with clinical staff. 4. Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all laws that govern Rule 245G programs and Pioneer Recovery Center's program policies and procedures. 5. Assists with the development of new policies and procedures as needed. 6. Maintains current knowledge of changes in state clinical standards, and evidenced-based practices. 7. Works in conjunction with other supervisory staff to provide performance reviews including completion of employee performance plans, supervision, and providing input on overall staff performance and training. 8. Assists in arranging coverage for absent SUD staff to facilitate groups or conduct evaluations and orientations. 9. Promotes and coordinates program growth & marketing efforts. 10. Conducts random audits of staff charts to check for compliance with documentation standards in conjunction with the compliance officer. 11. Assists in the recruitment, hiring and training of all program staff and interns. 12. Meet regularly with CEO and other supervisors to discuss any and all pertinent issues to ensure that all staff are on the same page regarding all operations of Pioneer Recovery Center. 13. Attend relevant program and company meetings as assigned. 14. Arbitrates formal client grievances as needed to ensure timely resolution. 15. Fills in for absent staff in emergency situations so client care does not suffer. 16. Manages the day to day operations of programs assigned. 17. Generates and maintains referral sources. 18. Other duties as assigned. Requirements 1. Must meet state qualifications of Chemical Dependency Counselor. 2. In order to provide clinical supervision of LADCs, employee must have 3 or more years of experience providing individual and group counseling to SUD clients except that, prior to January 1, 2005, an individual employed in a program formerly licensed under parts 9530.5000 to 9530.6400 is required to have 1 or more years of experience; and 3. Must know and understand the implications of Minnesota Statutes 245G plus, sections 245A.65 (Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults), 626.556 (Reporting of Maltreatment of Minors), 626.557 (Reporting Maltreatment of Vulnerable Adults), and 626.5572 (Definitions); or 4. Have 2 years of experience providing individual and group counseling to SUD clients and may not engage in clinical supervision elements of the position. 5. Demonstrate an ability to work with management in a positive and cooperative fashion. 6. Demonstrate an ability to supervise and manage key administrative and clinical staff. 7. Demonstrate an ability to supervise programming including understanding of administrative and business aspects of the program. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Services field, Masters Preferred Must be 18 years of age or older. Must pass Applicant Background Check Study Approval. Training and successful counseling experience in the field of Alcohol and Drug Dependency At the time of assuming the position of Treatment Director the individual should demonstrate basic knowledge of or be receiving training related to: Knowledge of chemical abuse and dependency Chemical use assessment, including client interviewing and screening. Case management, to include treatment planning, general knowledge of social services and appropriate referrals, record keeping, reporting requirements, confidentiality rules and regulations that apply to chemical dependency clients. Individual and group counseling, including crisis intervention. The lifestyle of the target population. The physiological, psychological, behavioral and social correlates to drug abuse. Theories and issues in drug abuse and its treatment. Ethics involved in the treatment of drug abusing individuals. Other drug abuse treatment rehabilitation resources available in the community. Knowledge and skills in family education. Must have at least one year of work experience in direct service to an individual with substance use disorder or one year of work experience in the management or administration of direct service to an individual with substance use disorder. Must have a baccalaureate degree or three years of work experience in administration or personnel supervision in human services; and Must know and understand the implications of chapter 245G of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 245A, and sections 626.556, 626.557, and 626.5572 of Minnesota Revisor Statutes.
