Orangeburg, South Carolina Information Solutions Technical Services Full Time Hospital Authority (MUHA) Add to favorites View favorites Job Description Summary The Quality Clinical Coordinator promotes a culture of safety by utilizing evidence-based practices and regulatory guidelines to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and reduce patient harm. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting infection prevention and patient safety data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting organizational compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and best practices. The specialist evaluates clinical care processes across inpatient settings, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to implement performance improvement initiatives, and develops strategies, programs, and educational efforts that enhance patient outcomes and protect the health and safety of patients, staff, and visitors. Through ongoing surveillance, data analysis, and partnership with clinical and operational leaders, this position drives continuous quality improvement and supports excellence in patient care. - Quality Assurance Pay Rate Type Salary Pay Grade Health-27 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Work Shift Job Description Responsibilities include utilizing evidence-based practices /guidelines with the goal of preventing healthcare-associated infections and preventing patient harm. This role collects, analyzes, and reports opportunities for healthcare-associated infections and safety events. This position evaluates patient care and hospital practices in MUSC inpatient settings to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, hospital policies/procedures and evidence-based practices. This role works collaboratively with other departments to ensure staff, patient and visitor public health safety. This position collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams for implementation of evidence-based guidelines and performance improvement and implements plans, projects and programs to improve clinical outcomes.
Additional Job Description Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in nursing and current RN license in the state of South Carolina. Previous acute care clinical experience. Attention to detail and follow up necessary. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with patients, families, hospital staff, physicians, and community resources required. Must be able to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. 2. Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as taking patient vitals, administering injections, or conducting physical exams. 3. Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed. 4. Visual acuity and color perception to accurately read medical charts, documents, and monitors. 5. Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues, as well as to perceive important sounds such as alarms or patient instructions. 6. Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing patient care, including long shifts and potentially stressful situations. 7. Mobility to navigate clinical environments, including moving between patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the facility. 8. Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
