Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to lead our behavioral health and mental health services. This vital role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and guiding a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, therapists, and support staff. The Clinical Director will champion evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, applied behavior analysis, and crisis management to deliver comprehensive care tailored to diverse populations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape clinical programs, foster a collaborative team environment, and make a meaningful impact on individuals with mental health conditions, developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and co-occurring disorders. Duties Provide clinical supervision and leadership to therapists, case managers, and support staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards. Oversee intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and ongoing patient care documentation in compliance with HIPAA and medical record policies. Develop and implement clinical protocols utilizing evidence-based modalities such as behavioral therapy, social work interventions, trauma-informed care (including PTSD), and child & family counseling. Manage crisis intervention procedures and coordinate emergency responses for clients experiencing acute mental health or behavioral crises. Lead group therapy sessions and facilitate individual counseling tailored to children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ensure accurate medical documentation using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Collaborate with community agencies, schools (including special education), hospitals, and families to coordinate case management services for clients with complex needs. Monitor clinical outcomes through data collection and research initiatives to continually improve program effectiveness. Review and complete crisis assessments. Provide outpatient therapy sessions. Skills Extensive experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), neurodevelopmental disorders, crisis interventions, SMI, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Proficiency in evidence-based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral management techniques, addiction counseling, and trauma-focused interventions like CPT coding. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation purposes. Proven ability in clinical supervision, team leadership, staff training, and managing clinical workflows within a fast-paced environment. Skilled in crisis management strategies including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques for individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral emergencies. Experience working with EMR/EHR platforms for documentation of patient care plans and medical records management. Exceptional client communication skills; capable of working effectively with clients' families while respecting cultural diversity. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of sensitive patient information across all clinical activities. Background in research or clinical studies related to mental health or behavioral health outcomes is a plus.
