This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, evidence-based care for adults with co-occurring mental health and substance-use disorders. The Clinical Lead oversees clinical workflow, supervises multidisciplinary staff, maintains regulatory compliance, and ensures documentation meets insurer-defensible, audit-ready standards. The role is central to maintaining AXIS's boutique, client-centered treatment experience. Duties 1. Clinical Oversight & Program Leadership Direct daily clinical operations for PHP/IOP, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to program schedules. 2. Conduct performance evaluations, corrective action plans, and professional development coaching. Facilitate clinical trainings on documentation, ethics, cultural competence, and crisis response. Model strengths-based, accountable leadership. 3. Documentation, Compliance & Quality Assurance Audit charts for accuracy, timeliness, medical necessity, and regulatory compliance. Ensure documentation meets private-pay and commercial-insurance standards for dual-diagnosis care. Maintain compliance with state regulations, Joint Commission standards, and AXIS internal policies. Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives using outcome data and client feedback. 4. Client Care & Engagement Conduct diagnostic assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, and level-of-care determinations. Provide individual therapy, crisis intervention, and clinical support as needed. Monitor client progress, attendance, and barriers to care; implement retention strategies. Collaborate with families, support systems, and external providers when clinically appropriate. 5. Multidisciplinary Coordination Facilitate communication between psychiatry, medical providers, therapists, case managers, and leadership. Lead weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical case reviews. Coordinate care transitions, step-downs, and discharge planning with insurer-defensible summaries. 6. Risk Management & Crisis Response Oversee suicide risk assessments, relapse risk evaluations, and safety planning. Lead crisis intervention protocols and post-incident debriefs. Ensure staff competency in emergency procedures and documentation. 7. Utilization Management & Insurance Collaboration Prepare clinical documentation for authorizations, continued-stay reviews, and appeals. Communicate with payers to advocate for medically necessary services. Ensure treatment plans and progress notes support level-of-care justification. 8. Program Development & Strategic Growth Assist leadership in refining PHP/IOP curriculum, workflows, and clinical offerings. Contribute to development of new services, specialty tracks, and branded clinical resources. Support marketing and admissions teams with clinically accurate program information. Provide leadership in treatment planning, case conceptualization, and clinical decision-making.
