GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The WIC Clinic Supervisor oversees daily clinic operations, ensures compliance with WIC policies, and provides nutrition and breastfeeding support to participants. This role manages staff, monitors program performance, and coordinates community outreach to promote participant health. By maintaining high standards of care and effective clinic management, the WIC Clinic Supervisor helps the WIC Program achieve its objectives of improving maternal and child health, promoting nutrition education, and supporting breastfeeding across Wyoming communities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level. Directs the work of contractors and employees with operational, supervisory, and fiscal responsibility. Conducts health screenings, including anthropometric and hematologic assessments, and nutrition assessments, to determine WIC eligibility. Provides health referrals, nutrition education, breastfeeding education, and breastfeeding promotion and support. Prescribes and issues supplemental, nutritious food packages. Communicates with relevant parties about changes to rules, expectations, and goals while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Ensures that service development and actual service delivery meet participants' needs and that areas of concern in service delivery are appropriately addressed. Assesses community needs and conducts appropriate outreach. Functions as a liaison from field offices to the Regional Nutrition Supervisor and State WIC Agency. Offers provider and participant training and education, public education, resource development, and the identification and implementation of best practices.
PREFERENCES
A four-year degree is required in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nursing, or Public Health Nutrition. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required for RNs. A Registered Dietitian (RD) credential is preferred for nutritionists. Our ideal candidate will also have at least 1 year of supervisory experience. The ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the principles and practices of grant writing, grant administration, management, and evaluation. Knowledge of program administration. Knowledge of Wyoming state statutes. Knowledge of marketing, social marketing, customer service, group dynamics, public relations, advocacy, and outreach strategies. Understanding and ability to apply principles of maternal and child health and nutrition, as well as breastfeeding support and education Ability to supervise and motivate employees
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Healthcare)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Health Programs)
OR Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Health Programs)

Non-exempt Full-time, benefited position A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
Immunizations:
The successful applicant will be required to complete an Employee Health Assessment, which includes verification of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases. If found to be non-immune, vaccination will be required unless medically contraindicated.
