$20-$22/hour
DOE POSITION SUMMARY
The Membership and Wellness Coordinator will support the Membership and Wellness Director in the day-to-day functioning of the Member Experience Desk that creates a welcoming culture as well as supporting the Health & Wellness Department. The Membership and Wellness Coordinator will support the development and sustainability of the branch membership and wellness departments. This individual will be required to work flexible hours, especially during peak times of facility usage and lead her/his team by example.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide leadership for the continued operation and improvement of all desk and wellness services to include member and constituent relations, information, and program registration. Monitor daily operations to adhere to all YMCA health and safety standards and policies. Ensure all staff is current with required certifications. Support the Member Services and Wellness Director in training staff, support the scheduling of staff, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed for desk and wellness services. Supports the departmental strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Provide leadership for an effective tour and enrollment procedure via desk and wellness staff. Work in tandem with the Director to identify and implement wellness, group exercise and personal training programs that promote retention of existing members and engage new members. Direct and engage staff to support health and wellness initiatives to achieve retention goals. Support the implementation of membership strategies that support the recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Participates in membership events at both locations and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA. Ensure the delivery of appropriate sales and customer service training for desk and wellness staff. Consistently communicate with the Director of Member Services and Wellness regarding cleanliness and safety of facility. Participate in assigned aspects of the Annual Fundraising Campaign.
REQUIREMENTS
AA degree in related field is preferred or equivalent education and work experience in related field ACSM, ACE, NASM, or NSCA certification Current CPR, AED, O2, First Aid required Program Management experience preferred Previous supervisory experience preferred Ability to interact with a diverse population Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft office software and ability to quickly learn and use other software products utilized by the Association.
PHYSICAL REQUIRIEMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal amounts of walking, standing, reading, writing, computer work, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending stretching for a fitness and wellness environment; evening and weekend hours may be required.
