This is a community-based position focused on helping him participate in college classes, volunteer opportunities, fitness activities, appointments, and community outings while continuing to build independence, communication, and daily living skills. This is not a sedentary caregiving position. The ideal candidate will enjoy being active, building a positive relationship, and helping a young adult have a meaningful and productive weekly routine.

Regular Schedule Monday:

8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Tuesday:

7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Wednesday:

7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Thursday:

7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Friday:

7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Applicants who can consistently work the full schedule are strongly preferred. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one support at home and in the community Transport and accompany the individual to college, volunteer placements, fitness activities, appointments, and community programs Support communication, participation, independence, and appropriate social interactions Use clear expectations, prompting, wait time, and positive behavioral strategies Assist with transitions between activities and encourage follow-through Support personal care and daily living needs as necessary Follow established safety, behavioral, medical, and support plans Communicate professionally with the family and other members of the support team Maintain reliable attendance and arrive on time for all scheduled shifts Qualifications RBT credential preferred Previous experience supporting individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities required Experience with autism, limited communication, AAC, behavioral supports, or community-based services strongly preferred Calm, patient, dependable, and able to maintain professional boundaries Able to read body language and recognize when additional support or prompting is needed Comfortable supporting an individual who may initially say "no" or require encouragement to begin an activity Able to provide support without over-talking, arguing, shaming, or escalating situations Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, current automobile insurance, and a satisfactory driving record Able to pass a background check and DMV screening Must be willing to commit to a consistent, long-term schedule Compensation and Benefits $28.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on experience Consistent weekday schedule No evening or weekend shifts Mileage reimbursement for authorized community transportation Paid training One-on-one position supporting one individual Performance and compensation review after 90 days Opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting difference in a young adult's life
