  • Residential Services Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available Support Independence.
Build Relationships. Make a Difference. UCP of Eastern Connecticut is looking for caring and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Residential Services team. You will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live in their own apartments , supporting each person to live as independently as possible, participate in their community, maintain relationships, and pursue the things that are important to them. What You'll Do Support individuals with daily living skills and household routines Encourage independence, choice, and self-direction Support community activities, appointments, errands, and social opportunities Assist with meal planning, shopping, and other household activities Help individuals develop and maintain skills that increase independence Follow individualized service plans and document services provided Communicate with individuals, families, team members, and other professionals Promote health, safety, dignity, and community inclusion Use assistive technology and other supports that promote independence and safety Participate in required staff meetings, training, and professional development What We're Looking For We are looking for people who are: Caring, patient, respectful, and dependable Comfortable supporting people to make their own choices Able to build positive, professional relationships Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Able to communicate clearly and complete required documentation Comfortable using technology Willing to learn and follow individualized support plans Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is helpful, but training is provided. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Current CPR and First Aid certification PMT certification Current driver's license, auto insurance, and a clean driving record Medication Administration Certification preferred Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position Schedule Weekend shifts are available Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Full-time and part-time positions are available. When you apply, we will discuss which days and shifts work best for your availability and our program needs.
