The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient safety and comfort, with a comprehensive understanding of medical procedures and healthcare protocols. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting clinical staff by providing direct patient care, assisting with medical documentation, and ensuring a safe and clean environment. Responsibilities Assist healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care by monitoring vital signs, administering basic treatments, and supporting daily activities. Maintain accurate medical documentation and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently and securely. Support patient transfer methods using proper manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both patients and staff. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively, adhering to infection control standards to prevent the spread of care facility infections. Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members to promote understanding and comfort during treatment processes. Assist with patient mobility, positioning, and hygiene needs while respecting patient confidentiality at all times. Contribute to maintaining a safe environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring compliance with hospital safety standards. Qualifications Prior experience in acute care settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or emergency medicine is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of hospital medicine, medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics, or outpatient clinic environments. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required. Familiarity with medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR) management, and medical equipment operation is essential. Proven ability to work effectively with geriatric patients and those requiring post-acute or sub-acute care services. Strong understanding of patient safety principles, infection control practices, and manual handling techniques. Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams in teaching hospital or outpatient settings.
