Company Job Summary:
Communicates with patients and staff to facilitate the dispensing and delivery of medications in a timely manner. Facilitates billing activities by accurately entering billing information.
Duties required:
Contacts patients to facilitate refills. Communicates with patients or caregivers regarding the usage of medication and supplies. Determines drug and supply needs based on the information received. Queries the patients about any relevant status changes (e.g. adverse reactions, medication changes, hospitalizations, insurance changes, missed doses) and relays this information to the appropriate staff. Schedules an appropriate delivery time for medications and supplies based on patient needs and warehouse scheduling. Produces prescription labels, compounding sheets, and delivery tickets. Forwards these items to the appropriate staff for fulfillment. Fills prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist. This includes pulling prescription items, labeling them, and recording the quantities dispensed, lot numbers, and expiration dates. Adjudicates insurance claims accurately and promptly. Adjusts billing quantities and dates of service in response to hospitalizations, missed doses, and utilization discrepancies in order to facilitate accurate billing. Assists with picking and packing orders when needed. Assures accuracy of goods to be delivered by checking contents of orders packed for delivery. Answers telephone calls and, if needed, forwards the caller to the appropriate staff. Assists with other tasks and projects as needed. This position is in-person at our office in Honolulu. Will require working on a rotating Saturday schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School graduate MUST be able to pass a background check and drug screen MUST be registered with the State of Hawaii as a
Pharmacy Technician Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher. One year of experience in a pharmacy, hospital, or other medical setting. Evidence of good communication skills, integrity, initiative, and a positive attitude Good computer skills, experience with email, word processing, data entry
