is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and professional Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will provide personalized in-home and community-based support for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The DSP plays a critical role in enhancing independence, promoting personal growth, and ensuring safety and well-being through structured support, consistent routines, and active engagement in daily activities. Compensation Pay Rate:
$15/hour Compensation is competitive and reflects experience, qualifications, and relevant training.
Schedule Flexible scheduling:
29 hours per week, subject to change Exact hours may fluctuate based on client needs and community activities Flexibility and adaptability are essential to meet the individual's routine and preferences Location of Services In-home support at the client's residence Community-based support for outings, appointments, and recreational activities Position Overview As a DSP, you will provide comprehensive in-home and community support , assisting the client with daily living tasks, skill-building, and engagement in community and recreational activities. You will work one-on-one to ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment while fostering independence, social skills, and personal growth. Key aspects of the role include: Providing personal care support, including assistance with grooming, bathing, and toileting as needed Maintaining consistent routines and helping the client adjust to changes with preparation and guidance Supporting communication using appropriate tools and methods tailored to the client's needs Promoting engagement, learning, and social interaction through structured and meaningful activities Key Responsibilities Provide compassionate, professional, and individualized in-home and community support Implement individualized support plans and structured routines Monitor and respond to client needs Assist with daily living tasks and personal care as required Encourage independence, social participation, and skill development Maintain clear, professional documentation of services and progress
Qualifications Required:
Dependable with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor Reliable transportation and safe driving record Valid driver's license and state minimum auto insurance Must have a high school diploma or equivelant Patience, confidence, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations Willingness and motivation to provide high-quality, compassionate care Ability to follow individualized plans, routines, and communication strategies Must successfully pass required background checks
Preferred:
Minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Familiarity with individualized support plans, crisis prevention, and community integration strategies Experience dealing with more aggressive behaviors and non-verbal communication About A Caring Heart Case Management, Inc. Are you comfortable assisting individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) after receiving training? These tasks may include but are not limited to: Personal Care, Mobility Support, Meal Preparation & Feeding, Toileting & Continence Care, and/or Household Tasks. Would you be comfortable performing these essential duties as part of your role? Please describe your experience working with individuals that are in the IDD populations. Also describe your experience working in a residential setting. Please include organizations that you worked for, volunteered for, and/or personal experience that you have. Can you regularly lift, push, or pull 25 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds occasionally?
Training Requirements:
This position requires successful completion of four paid training days (including Onboarding, in-person CPR/First Aid, Safety Care sessions, and one at-home Relias module). Training days may not be consecutive, and travel up to one hour may be required depending on the location. Compensation is provided if travel is required and attendance is confirmed. All training must be completed prior to starting your official schedule. Are you able to meet these training requirements?
