Part-Time Respite Caregiver / Direct Support Professional Roper, NC | $17/hour | Part-Time | Flexible Schedule We are looking for a kind, patient, dependable, and compassionate person to provide in-home respite care and one-on-one support for a young adult with autism. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others and wants to make a meaningful difference while providing a family with much-needed respite. What You'll Do Provide friendly, patient one-on-one companionship and support Engage in activities at home based on his interests and abilities Encourage communication, independence, and participation Help maintain a safe, calm, and positive environment Follow established routines and guidance from the family Provide supervision and support while his family takes time for respite This is an in-home position. No community outings are required. What We're Looking For At least 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent Patient, dependable, trustworthy, and compassionate Comfortable working with a young adult with autism Comfortable around dogs Experience with autism, developmental disabilities, special needs, caregiving, education, childcare, or direct support is a plus CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain NCI training will be provided Previous experience is helpful, but the right personality and willingness to learn are just as important . Schedule Part-time hours with a flexible schedule based on family needs and your availability.
