Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PCA/Respite Aide to provide essential personal care and support to individuals with diverse needs. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration under supervision or as trained, ensuring proper handling and adherence to care plans. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance. Engage clients in social activities or recreational programs to foster mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning patient areas, laundry, and general sanitation tasks. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans that address specific health conditions like dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism, or developmental disabilities. Support patients during emergencies or health crises by administering first aid or CPR when necessary. Document all care activities accurately while respecting client confidentiality and HIPAA standards. Skills Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs effectively. Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and care plan implementation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts. Excellent communication skills for working with individuals with disabilities, dementia, autism, or other special needs. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Experience in providing Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice support, or long-term resident assistance preferred. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities including meal preparation, cleaning, patient monitoring, and assisting with ADLs confidently. Basic first aid certification along with CPR training required; additional certifications in nursing or home health are advantageous.
