Job Summary Bestacare LLC is seeking experienced, dependable, and compassionate Direct Support Professionals to support adults with developmental disabilities in our residential group home. DSPs help residents build independence, participate in their community, and maintain daily routines while respecting their dignity, choices, privacy, and individual support needs. We are looking for team members who communicate professionally, arrive on time, complete accurate documentation, and follow through on their responsibilities.
Available Shifts Evening:
3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
Overnight:
11:00 p.m.-8:00 a.m. Rotating weekend coverage. Applicants should provide their availability and any scheduling restrictions. Weekly hours depend on the assigned rotation and coverage needs. Overnight staff must remain awake and attentive throughout the shift. Responsibilities Follow each resident's individualized support plan and approved protocols. Encourage independence while assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and other daily living activities as needed. Support household routines, laundry, shopping, appointments, and community outings. Prepare meals according to residents' dietary needs and preferences. Maintain a clean, safe home and complete assigned shift chores. Provide medication support only after completing required training and receiving authorization. Follow medication orders, agency procedures, and documentation requirements. Observe and promptly report changes in health, mood, behavior, or support needs. Obtain vital signs when trained and directed. Use respectful communication and approved positive-support strategies. Complete DSP progress notes, shift handover logs, incident reports, and timesheets accurately and on time. Communicate resident concerns, significant events, supply needs, and maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor. Participate in required orientation, training, and staff meetings. Protect resident confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries. Education and Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Coursework or additional education in human services, healthcare, psychology, social work, or a related field preferred. Previous experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, providing direct care, or working in a residential group home preferred. CNA or other relevant healthcare credentials are welcome but are not a substitute for required DSP training. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification before working independently. Ability to complete required background screenings, orientation, and resident-specific training. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required for assignments involving resident transportation. Strong communication, observation, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to perform essential job duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation. Dependability and availability for assigned evening, overnight, and rotating weekend shifts. Pay:
$18.00 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 - 40.0 per week
