Residential Support Staff Full Job Description We are looking for someone who is compassionate and fun, and possesses a great sense of humor. You will provide residential support on three evenings a week and 4 hours on Saturday to two male adults with developmental disabilities who have minimal support needs (all speak, can dress, and feed themselves, and are learning independent living skills). Residential Staff work with residents both in the home on independent living skills, as well as in the community. Community activities include bowling, going to movies and sports events, arts & crafts, weekend trips, and other fun and exciting adventures exploring the Madison area. The home is located in Mount Horeb, WI. Under the supervision of the Residential Manager, Resident Staff empowers residents to work towards greater independence through relationship building and personalized support. The Resident Staff provides daily instruction and support around all areas of daily living. The Resident Counselor understands and assists in promoting the residents goals of self determination. Who are you?
Have a Bachelor's degree in human services related field preferred but not required.
At least one (1) year of experience working with adults with intellectual and /ordevelopmental disabilities preferred.
Able to pass a criminal background check.

Vaccination card by date of hire. What Will You Do? 1. Work with the Residential Manager and residents to develop and carry out an Individual Program Plan (IPP) to assist residents in reaching their highest level of independent living
Provide support to develop and follow a consistent schedule of independent living skills instruction and daily routines with resident input
Promote and teach meal planning and preparation, shopping, hygiene, safety awareness, self-advocacy, personal, domestic, medical, financial, social/recreational, communication, and behavior management skills to maintain independence
Monitor medication and accompany residents to medical appointments
Assist with transportation or training to obtain transportation
Support community integration and development of social skills through encouraging and facilitating recreational activities
Complete daily written documentation of activities as assigned, including plans, progress notes and reports 2.
Prepare meals for residents 3. Have ability to exercise mature judgment and relate to individuals in a warm and caring manner 4. Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings 5. Safeguard client privacy and confidentiality, making sure protected health information is secured 6. Maintain good working relationships with all staff to help the home operate as a positive, coordinated unit 7. Meet agency standards for performance by delivering all work to a high-quality standard 8. Part-time Weekends Pay:
$15.75 per hour
Schedule:
One 3-4 hour shift on Saturday 4:00pm-8:00pm
Three 3-4 hour shifts Tuesday thru Thursday 4:00pm-8:00pm
Weekend scheduling can be broken up and shared across two employees if necessary. Must have your own transportation and ability to commute.
